Everyone's been tempted to buy a piece of furniture that's a cheap, poorly built piece of crapola that's been disguised in neutral fabric and stained wood that looks good to the untrained eye. Whether new or vintage, sometimes you take the jump to buy a bad piece. Remember that it's harder to remove a piece of furniture, however bad it is, once it's settled into your space. Watch Kate Hepburn wield her words of wisdom on the long term benefits of buying good furniture in an old clip of The Dick Cavett Show. I wonder where the furniture on that set is today.
