I've been doing a lot of painting lately using different paint suppliers, Rodda, Benjamin Moore, and Sherwin-Williams.   All of the paint brands have different qualities of paint, so talk to the paint salesperson and describe what your situation is.  I bought a rather industrial paint for the living room since I have dogs, but I definitely wanted a zero VOC paint for the bedroom.  I would have purchased zero VOC for the living room, but the type they had at sherwin-williams didn't appear to hold up well in multi-large dog situations.

To sum up, don't just talk about whether you want egg-shell or flat, there are different qualities of paint.  I've had good luck mostly with ben moore and sherwin williams, but really bad luck with paint I bought at lowes or home depot.  I do feel like you get what you pay for in paint.  I've almost always had to use two coats except for paint I bought at lowes/home depot I ended up with 4+ coats and still it doesn't look right.
