was bored with standard ceiling light fixture so crafted the above one day...the 18" flex came from a lighting store in NYC along with the innards... the idea was to reshape the arms every so often but have left it in that same shape ever since it went up.

I found this brass chandelier on the side of the road. It had an on/off switch on the base that had decomposed from age.
I took it apart, cleaning the brass thoroughly, and gutted the old switch housing from the inside.
I then disconnected the wiring from the switch to hook all the lamps to one positive and one negative cord that would lead to the ceiling electric hookup.
I sanded the metal w/ 400 grit paper and spray painted it black. I purchased a black chain to hang it with and hooked it up to the ceiling source and added a dimmer to control it.

I found two of these lamps on the side of the road. The original color was a cheesy "pier one" antique green so I sanded them w/ 400 grit and sprayed it silver. I found these great dramatic lampshades at Ikea and changed the interior hardware to fit the lamps.
Now it works great by the reading chair in the loft.
