Really inexpensive lighting

By LittlePDXhouse

We wanted to have a paper lantern light in our bedroom but we couldn't find any light fixtures that would work with our $6 lantern. So we bought a lamp making kit from Home Depot and a base plate for $14. We then cut off the cord from the light fixture part to adjust it to the height we wanted (you have to let heat escape the top), attached the wires to those in the ceiling already, put the base plate in, and screwed in a light bulb. It took about 15 minutes and it looks 100 times better than when there was a nasty 70s fixture in there.
