Is It a New Trend - White and Black?

By LenkArt Ikea_bl_wht_large

This is page from Ikea catalogue. Was not black-and-white around before? May be I wasn’t looking for white and black items and just didn’t noticed them?It seems everyone is offering black-and-white decorative accessories nowadays.I am wondering, how strong the influence of fashion industry is on interior décor? I have feeling that it takes about 2-4 years for colours, fabric patterns and textures from fashion industry to be adopted in Home Décor field. What is your opinion?  »MORE

I am looking for:

By LenkArt Bw_oval_03_large

people on Curbly with online stores and blogs. Lets help each other to promote our stores and get better rankings on Google. Curbly itself is a big help, but we need something else too. My offer: I have a blog http://textiledecor.blogspot.com/ and I offer to link decor, design related online stores, or blogs to my blog. In exchange I will ask you to link my site www.lenkart.com to your blog or site. I would like the words Decorative Pillows to be clickable with link to www.lenkart.com. Think what you want me to write and make it clickable to your website... »MORE

From Garbage to Bedroom

By LenkArt Burgundy_chair_before_large

Years ago I found this chair in the garbage. I liked it then, and I love it now. Fabric was old and dated , so I decided to reupholster it myself. Fabric choice wasn't difficult, I already had draperies from same fabric. It took me a while  to take all staples out. I used old fabric parts as my template to cut new pieces of fabric. It was my first experience with upholstery, I think I achived what I wanted. I just want to repeat  one more time - try new things to do, otherwise you will never know what you are... »MORE

Decorative pillow from fabric leftovers.

By LenkArt Pillow_black_violet_large

I had leftovers of silk fabric ( narrow stripes about 2.5" wide and other 4.5" stripes, and a little piece of black silk) from my window treatment project. I did this decorative pillow in about an hour.My advice: just look at what you have and try to imagine what you can do from it. I am sure you will find good ideas.  »MORE

How to deal with loose ends on fabrics like this one:

By LenkArt Dscf5224_large

I had difficulties working with this fabric, and if somebody could suggest some solutions, it will be very much appreciated. I did a big valance and a couple of pillows , and every time I was sewing edges to secure those loose ends. It takes a lot of extra time.  So may be there is another easier way to deal with this problem. Thanks, Elena www.customdrapery.ca  www.lenkart.com    »MORE

Sometime inspiration just come...

By LenkArt Time_spiral_large

I created this clock about a year and a half ago ( I mean finished it), but Idea was in my head for 3 years. First I painted fiber board, just for fun. Then I saw black clock in Zone store an idea just jumped in my head. So I ordered custom frame in Costco ( it was much cheaper than in any other custom framing places), than I attached black clock in the middle and now I have one-of-a-kind clock. »MORE
