Food: Coffee is good for you (again)

I've long suspected that my freshly-brewed beverage of choice was getting a bad rap. There's new evidence that caffeine is beneficial. It's a safe drug for combating Alzheimer's, according to this BBC report, a recent study for the Journal of Neuroinflammation.

"Caffeine appears to block several of the disruptive effects of cholesterol that make the blood-brain barrier leaky," said Dr Jonathan Geiger. The blood brain barrier filters potentially harmful chemicals before they can reach the central nervous system.
