How to: Choose a President without wasting time...

By Ken Hoyt

There are nine months before the general election. Still, more than a handful of presidential hopefuls via for our attention. We should be grateful that the media is enamored with only about half the candidates. Just think what a mess it would be if they reported on the lot of them.

Are you still trying to sort out the candidates to find the one that best exemplifies your beliefs? Are you sick of actually listening to them? You're in luck! American Public Media has designed a computer program, Engage '08: Select a Candidate, to help you find your best ideological match. Think of it as eHarmony does politics.

This arrived just in the knick of time for me. I'd almost resorted to reading the candidates platforms. Now I can make my decision based entirely of hearsay. Or was that heresy?

I am not surprised with my outcome either. Although I hesitate to share such information. I posted this because I found it entertaining. A diversion in an overly-long political season.

Thanks for posting this - it was really interesting and quick.  My top 3 candidates were not all that surprising, but my bottom 3 were.
