What would you do?
By JudithDialDH and I are contemplating decorating the house. The problems are: too much stuff (I'm working on that one) but especially books & photo stuff. The fact that we both find pieces we love and buy them, whether we have any idea where it will go and/or fit into any decorating scheme. And finally, there's a conflict of styles.

Making a table from birch logs

This how-to really interested me as we have several birch trees we've been contemplating taking down in the yard AND I still need side tables for the livingroom. No storage, but otherwise, I think they're great.
Pointclickhome had this write up about turning a bundle of wood into an attractive, reasonble side table. I'm amazed at the ingenuity of the city dwellers in finding their wood at the flower market. Much cheaper than Conran's $2,000. » READ MORE
