Selling Crafts
By JHRiversI'm thinking about selling crafts and perhaps some jewelry online. I recently stumbled upon Etsy and will probably sell my stuff there. I was just wondering if anybody had any advice for me.

The forums on etsy have a lot of threads for newbies with helpful advice.

Most of my sales have been to people who knew me outside of etsy, that is online friends and people who bought from me when I used to sell paintings on ebay. It's very hard to sell things just relying people who see your stuff on etsy.
It's a good idea to let people that you know offline know that you have a store. I have sold things to people who saw it in my store but bought it from me offline.
Get business cards printed up - you can get free ones at www.vistaprint.com but I think as an artist it's better to make them yourself on the computer so you can personalize them more.
