New Apartment! or How To Be Happy With Less

By Gradon Ashmont_hill_1

I recently moved into a new apartment.  It is a one bedroom unit on the third floor of an old Victorian home in the Ashmont Hill section of Dorchester, a "burrough" of Boston.  Built in the 1880's, the single family home was broken into apartments during the Depression.  The apartment maintains many period details, including a clawfoot tub and incredible woodwork throughout.  Here are some photos of the place before I moved in:  So far I have just the bare minimums:  a table and chairs in the kitchen; a futon, coffee table, desk and chair, and small TV in the living... »MORE

Gradon's cheery bathroom

By Gradon 316913779_a836f66e6a

The bathroom is huge.  But the color.  Not that I don't like blue (in fact, it's my favorite color), but just this shade of blue.  No, it will never do, said the girlfriend.  As we got situated, we must have just gotten comfortable with the color, because nothing was ever done.  Until this week. Hey Gradon,

Just saw you comment to Ben about including your own blog content on Curbly. We don't currently have an automated way to do it, but Curbly does support the MetaWeblog API, which allows you to post to Curbly from just about any desktop client. That might make it easier for you to double-post your articles. Shoot me an e-mail if you want the info on getting it set up (admin@curbly.com). Thanks!

Bruno

You've gone pro...  yeah me too.  *Jokingly* Everybodys doing it...

I once lived in Boston, therefore I find it my duty to say hi as loudly as I can.

(I'm failing miserably.)  :D

Yep, the blog is down, and maybe (probably) for good.  We're going to move that content onto our own blogs on the site.

I did leave that note--for some reason I thought that was your blog here, and only after did I realize that it was an external blog. A blog I bookmarked and am happy to have discovered :) Happy Thanksgiving!
