Recycling Killer Ornaments

By EmilyJayne G114536_120_120_large

Okay.  So I had a billion of these glass ornaments laying around, that I inherited.  Sure, they're great.  But I have large dogs that have even seemingly larger tails that bring the fragile orbs to their demise.  Not to mention little hands pulling on and bumping or spinning wildly into them. It brought me to thinking about how to recycle them, since I'm an advid advocate for Mother Earth.I found these ornaments from Pier One. In an effort to recycle and relieve these glass wrecks waiting to happen, I started to get creative. I cut up tissue paper into strips.  I mixed... »MORE

Animal Instincts

By EmilyJayne 12_large

What comes to mind when one hears warm and fuzzy... Your bed!  Here's the example of an adapted Trading Spaces room.  Found in the corner of an unfinished basement, a drop ceiling was installed, dry wall put up and textured, floors painted green, with exotic leaf print, and even a potted tree in the window (not making an appearance in the photo.)  Topped of with microsuede comforter and some pretty heafty thread count in the sheets, for the first time in my life.  A really do it yourself project, to bring out the creativity in oneself. I just freehanded the stripes... »MORE

Yeah.  Like I say, anything creative, I'll try once. Tattooing happens to fall into that category.  I'm a work in progress, as we all are.

I hope Martha has nothing on me...

Hi EmilyJayne, the former Bostonian turned, um, Duluthian.  You're quite the tattooist.   I've come up with mine, but I have friends that did the actual inking for me.  And I'm sure Martha Stewart has nothing on you.
