Folding chair is less than an inch thick

By Doug Aamoth

Now THAT's a folding chair. The 2F chair from Finnish designer Hannu Kahonen folds to 25 mm flat, which is less than one inch. Better yet, one side of the chair is black and the other side is white, so you can change up the colors to suit your mood.

The entire thing is apparently made from birch veneer plywood, so it's probably not all that expensive. No word on whether these will be produced and sold to the public, though. You could probably make one yourself, though, if you had the wherewithall.

These would work really well for businesses, churches, and events where a bunch of folding chairs were needed but space was limited.

I'm imagining in small spaces, you could attach hangers on the backrests and display a couple on the wall. While they're 'stored', you'd have yourself some interesting art.
