When I found this chair pair at the thrift-store for 10 bucks, I almost soiled my pants! I have kids and they are perfect little sleepover beds. So, excited, I went to the fabric store for upholstry fabric and when I saw the prices I almost soiled my pants again... until I saw this pretty brown-flecked artists' canvas for 8 bucks a meter! It's super durable and repels water well too. I used an exacto-knife to cut apart the old upholstry at the seams and used it as a pattern to cut the new fabric. It was my first upholstry job but was pretty much failproof with the old fabric as a pattern. Total cost of both couches: $130
