By DIY Maven

Pick spot, pound in nail. That's what a lot of us do when we hang art. But did you know, there's actually an art to art-hanging? Rental Decorating shows-and-tells us all about it. Their lesson includes the following:

  • arranging pieces together
  • even numbered arrangements
  • symmetrical arrangements
  • asymmetrical arrangements
  • museum arrangements
  • modern art gallery arrangements

See? Much more than 'pick spot, pound in nail'! To complete your art-hanging lesson, follow this link.

I laughed out loud at "pick a spot, pound a nail"!  That's so me. And it always frustrates me.  Especially lately when I've tried using wall decals (thank goodness they're removable!).  The designs I get from http://wwww.wallslicks.com are beautiful artwork, but I just haven't been able to get them to look right on the wall.  This article is so informative, with both instruction and diagrams - I'm very grateful!  I especially liked the look of your "asymetrical" arrangement.  So balanced.
