More Ways to Brighten Your Home

By DIY Maven

Light and airy home office

Here in Curblyland we have been experiencing an inordinate amount of cloudy days lately. And it's gettin' to me. The sad part is now that the days are getting shorter, gray days are turning into long dark nights. Great if you're a nocturnal animal or a vampire. I am neither....yet, but if Antonio Banderas's Armand came knocking, I just might answer. But I digress. Here are some more tips (to add to your arsenal) to help you brighten your home on a cloudy day.

  1. Add mirrors.
  2. Embrace fall colors.
  3. Clean off your kitchen counter.
  4. Clean your windows.
  5. Add scents to your home, they'll brighten your mood.
  6. Replace burnt out light bulbs and add lamps.
  7. Paint, of course.

For further elucidation regarding these tips, follow this link to Conejo Valley Guide.

When replacing light bulbs, if this time of year really gets to you, think about buying yourself some OTT Lites or bulbs. What a difference they make. These are full spectrum lighting and simulate day light. OTT is a brand name. Dr. John Ott invented this type of lighting. I have one at my computer desk. One must be causious to not leave them on during the evening hours if one wants to ever get any sleep. I find that in using it I don't always go to bed when I should.
