Announcing The Curbly Top Design Fan Club!

Bravo has set itself apart in the business of reality TV in that they made it good. Case in point: ‘Project Runway’ and ‘Top Chef’ whose contestants actually have skills. As of January 31^st at 11/10CT the cable TV network is adding a new offering to their delicious lineup. Its name says it all: ‘Top Design.’

The Show

Hosted by Todd Oldham, ‘Top Design’ will pit 12 designers in head to head weekly tasks whose outcome will be judged by Jonathan Adler (pegged as ‘lead judge’), Margaret Russell (editor-in-chief of ELLE DECOR) and interior designer Kelly Wearstler.

The contestants, which include interior designers, artists and architects from all over the country, will be competing for a $100,000 grand prize, a 2007 GMC Acadia, an editorial feature in ELLE DECOR, and a chance to have their design prowess showcased at ELLE DECOR’s fancy shindig Dining By Design in NYC.

The Fan Club

This is the plan: every Thursday, I’ll post a ‘wrap up’ of the previous night’s show, giving an opinion or two along the way, I’m sure, and then I’m going to hand it over to the Curbly community. Post your rants, your raves! Tell us who you hate, who you love! Maybe we can even place bets on who’ll win...but only if the IRS isn’t reading this.

As They Say, Check Your Local Listings

Although ‘Top Design’ premieres Thursday, January 31^st after the two-hour finale of ‘Top Chef’ (go Sam!) at 11/10CT, it will move to its regular time slot the following week, February 7^th at 10/9CT and will be replayed throughout the week. So, are you in or are you out?
