Architecture from the Da Vinci Code
By DIY Maven
This summer a friend and I saw Angels and Demons and as I was watching it, the only thing I could think of--besides the fact that, even though it is a better movie than The Da Vinci Code, I still can't buy Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon--this is going to make a lot of people want to visit Vatican City. The architecture, the art, the atmosphere all added up to one spectacular tourism ad--less the bloody bits, of course. I wasn't as inspired to hop a plane after seeing The Da Vinci Code, but then again, in that flick we jaunted hither and yon, whereas in the latter film we spent most of our time in Vatican City soaking up its vibe. But I digress. Essential Architecture has put together a tour, of sorts, of all those lovely places we may have overlooked while reading The Da Vinci Code or were not included in its big screen adaptation. From Paris to Rome to London to Scotland, they hit all the highlights.
