Free Motion Quilting: A Tutorial

By DIY Maven

created at: 2009-09-09

When most people think of quilts, they think of blocks that fashion log cabins or tulips or something with precise up and down running hand stitches. Free motion quilting is nothing like that. It's an easy going, groovy, free-hand kind of stitch that suits contemporary quilting perfectly. And, because you do it on a sewing machine, it's much less taxing!  Oh, Frannson describes the procedure with practical advice and beautiful pictures. Your sewing machine will have to have a 'lower feed dogs' feature and you'll need a free-motion foot, but other than that, you'll be good to go.
