true story-
one of my last office jobs, the marketing guy found out swingline was selling red staplers because the art director for office space had spray painted the one for the movie herself, as swingline didn't make staplers that color at the time. and our marketing guy felt he needed to have one as it was a perfect example of a company giving the people what they wanted.
so he ordered one, for like $26 plus shipping. meanwhile, i took my black, standard, swingline stapler downstairs to our warehouse, masked off the silver parts, and shot it with a little cherry red laquer spray paint. it was perfect. let it dry, sat it on the edge of my desk, and said nothing.
about 20 minutes later, he walks by. "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?!?!?!"
"oh this? i've always had it".....
"ugh, what....guh....ufhhjhk,......(and then he said a bad word)."
he was so angry he had to go home early from work. HA!
when the thing finally showed up, it was more like coral-color. not bright cherry red. ha!
