Bungalow Makeover: From Foreclosure to Fabulous

By DIY Maven

Ten industrial sized Dumpsters were filled with the junk that filled Lisa and Todd's 1905 Portland bungalow. It had been inhabited by human and non-human squatters before the couple purchased the forlorn property. The before pictures pretty much sum up the condition of the home, but Lisa & Todd saw past it. They restored it to its former glory, including new hardwood floors, vintage light fixtures and subway tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. To see more before and after pictures and to read more about the project, follow this jump.

That is so amazing, I don't think I would have been strong enough to be able to buy that house but it is astonishing that they made it such a beautiful place to live. AWESOME job!!!

They have done an amazing job!  I thought our house was bad when we bought it, but looking at these pictures makes me realize maybe it wasn't so bad after all.  After we took posession and moved in I spent the first night in tears wondering what we had got ourselves in to!  Hubby ripped the carpet out of our bedroom so that we could sleep in it the first night.

It's funny I thought the same thing as Emily. If I knew what it looked like before I never could live there. I don't think I would ever feel like all the yuck was gone. I mean it wasn't just broken down it was filthy! Eeewwwwhh!

Hey Emily. The couple who bought it bought it to live in, not to flip. And I agree....amazing.

Wow this is amazing. Wonder if this house was bought to live in or make money off of?!?!? I wouldn't be able to see the light if I thought I had to live in this house. LOL!!!!! It would be so overwhelming, but if I was making money off it, I could probably push through. :) GREAT JOB!
