How to Bring Mardi Gras Home
By DIY Maven
Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday which means, for some people, it's the last day to party. Until after Easter, that is. If you're not able to make it to the Big Easy to celebrate the carnival properly, you can bring the festivities home with sights, tastes and sounds of New Orleans. First, cook up some tasty dishes, courtesy of Epicurious. From Shrimp and Andouille Gumbo to Oyster Po'boys to Vegetarian Red Beans and King's Cake, there's something for everyone.

Next you'll need some masks. To make your own, check out this, this and this post. The last one includes a template to print out your own basic mask to decorate. If doing so, I'd suggest using it as a pattern to cut a mask from craft foam.
Finally, to really get you in the mood, check out the rather bawdy video below courtesy of nola.com of the Krewe du Vieux Mardi Gras Parade which occured on February 7th. Or listen to the sounds of kickin' New Orleans tunes on your desktop, via NOLA Radio.
