How to Upholster a Switch Plate

By DIY Maven

We've seen covered switch plates before here on Curbly, but this latest entry kicks the idea up a notch. The maker uses fabric instead of paper. Cool, huh?

To make one, you'll need:

  • a smooth, stainless steel switch plate
  • fabric just large enough to cover the switch plate
  • 1/8" hole punch
  • a sharp scissors
  • Yes! paste
  • Mod Podge in gloss
  • brushes for applying Yes! and Mod Podge

I don't see why the plastic ones wouldn't work!

Very nice!!  Have you tried using this on just the ugly plastic plate covers?  Maybe I'll give that a go and see how it works out.  Thanks for the idea.
