What a Zero-Energy Residence Looks Like

The Department of Energy at Cornell University prompts architects to design energy efficient homes via competition. In 2005, Zero Energy Design put together this zero-energy residence, called the Solar Decathlon House. According to Freshome, "The one bedroom, one bathroom home uses photovoltaic and thermal systems, rain-water recycling, and water-efficient fixtures...." Living off the grid has never looked lovelier!
