How to turn salvaged drawers into modern shelving.

By DIY Maven

Found on Freecycle, these drawers originally came out of a 1940's kitchen. Turned on their sides and fixed to a wall, they’ve become very functional and flirty shelving.

Supplies you’ll need to make them:

  • primer
  • 2 coordinating paint colors
  • decorative or wrapping paper
  • Modge Podge
  • drywall screws
  • wood filler

Tools you’ll need to make them:

  • paintbrush
  • drop cloth
  • scissors or craft knife, straight edge and cutting mat
  • tape measure or yardstick
  • brayer
  • drill
  • sand paper
  • vacuum or tack cloth

To see how it’s done, check out this tutorial.
