Frosting Pen

By DIY Maven

Yes, you can buy tubes of frosting and decorating gels that have pen-like tips, but everyone knows that homemade frosting is almost always superior than the store-bought stuff. Those pens, are very handy, however. With Cuisipro's Decorating Pen ($10) we can now have the convenience of a writing instrument without sacrificing taste. It can produce fine or thick lines and is top-shelf dishwasher safe.

Ooh!  Nifty, then.  It does very nice thin lines -- I always wondered how bakers did that, when mine are so sloppy!  (Answer: they are not using zippable plastic bags, obvs.)

Totally could have used this when decorating Halloween cookies last night.

To use it, they say you only have to squeeze the sides of the pen. I'm guessing the plunger is for filling the the thing. I'm sure, as you run low of frosting, you'll have to plunge eventually, however, to force the frosting down.

Yeah, but you have to push the plunger while you write, don't you?   That seems a little awkward.

Still, a good idea in theory. :)
