The BEST On-Line Guide to Residential Styles

REALTOR.org has, by far, the best on-line residential style guide for the layperson that I’ve come across. From Italianate to art deco to shingle and everything in between. Each style has a pictorial example and a thumbnail description. For a lengthier description, click on the individual styles. Also, the page includes an nice section called ‘Home Features’ which defines various architectural features such as dormers and roofs. For example, under the ‘roofs’ heading, we find 8 different roof types that include such styles as gambrel, mansard and pavilion-hipped. To peruse the page, visit realtor.org. For any real estate/architecture junkie, it's certainly worth a bookmark!
