1000 Posts and Counting

To commemorate this my 1000th post, I thought I’d cull through those that came before and pick out a few of my favs.

One of my first was actually a 3 part series devoted to removing and installing toilets. You haven’t lived until you’ve plucked a porcelain throne off a waste pipe! This one was fun to write as I was able to indulge that 13-year-old-boy side of my sense of humor. It’s not often I can sneak the word ‘poop’ into a post!

If you read the Curbly Monthly Updates, you’ll know I’ve got a thing for themes, and the theme for ‘Color Wheel Romance’ was sex. Visual color + colorful language = fun.

Sometimes there are things that really shouldn’t need a how-to. Gift-wrapping your front door was one of them, in my opinion. I wrote the post anyway.

One of my favorite titles was ‘Lava Rinse Repeat’. The post gave a history of the Lava Lamp and its nudist inventor, Edward Craven Walker.

You never know how people will respond to or use posts. You put it out there and hope for the best. The No-Sew Pet Blanket was one that took me by surprise. Not to get all mushy, but when I read a comment from annemarie, tears came to my eyes. She wrote:

Thanks so much for posting this! The Fall '07 pledge class of Alpha Phi Omega at George Mason University will be using this tutorial to make blankets for the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation (ldrf.org). :)

If this little how-to was able to help others help rescue animals...well, it doesn’t get much better than that.
