Outdoor Shed Oasis

By DIY Maven

Via Meterialicio: ‘French designer Jean Oddes created a nice backyard retreat for himself by joining two sheds with a central deck. Perfect for summer sleeping and dining al fresco.’

A lovely arrangement to be sure, but the picture of the center deck is inspiring for those of us without two sheds. The same idea–high tensile wires, fabric+grommets–could be used over patios, decks and balconies.

To be honest most anything about politics reminds me of Monty Python.

Here's a link to the Monty Python "Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson" skit. Does the preoccupation about the nick name remind anyone else of recent political distractions?

Gorgeous! If I was living in a more permanent place (not renting) I would definitely want to do this. By the way--the two sheds makes me think of the Monty Python sketch where a tv show host was insisting his guest went by the nickname "Two Sheds" despite the fact that he only had one.

Yeah, you can get pre-fab sheds--or nearly pre-fab that will require you to do a little assembly. My next door neighbor actually bought a garden shed through one of the high schools here in MN. The shop class (or whatever they call it these days) made it. Basically, my neighbor paid for the supplies and then the kids made it to gain experience in building such things. Cool idea and it was much less expensive that buying a do-it-yourself kit.

I love this!  Do you know if you can buy those sheds pre-fab?  (Nice "grommet" references. Ha!)

I would love being able to walk out to my little shed studio in the yard--cozy.
