Sculptor and welder Cal Lane has the ability to transform mundane objects like shovels, wheelbarrows, car parts and even I-beams into lace. Her work is all about contradiction, which she uses as ‘a vehicle for finding [her] way to an empathetic image, an image of opposition that creates a balance - as well as a clash - by comparing and contrasting ideas and materials.’ Inspiring.
