Actually the "old things" would be the penises to the left. We don't want to insult the peacock on the right, after all. :-)

Birds on a penis - what a nice picture!

I agree...one would be great in the backyard! (The big guy on the right!) Although, I'm guessing my neighbors with the four young boys might have a problem with it ;) I could imagine birds perching on the penis!

I think it very fanny sculptures. I would love to have one in my backyard, if I can afford it.

I agree. While some may find it offensive, it's hardly distasteful. All "parts" - men's and women's are hidden and euphemised. As if we are to pretend they aren't there! Celebrate them!

Yes, I did think he looked particularly proud. As you've said, only a woman can capture that. :-)

Actually, that sort of pride (esp. in art) is terribly attractive to me. If you ask me, men and their parts are so demonized or stereotyped beyond health such that the whole of society ends up missing out on their beauty and power. So, it's good indeed to see someone put things back into their proper perspective.

Thanks a lot for sharing this!!

White chocolate. (Okay, that probably WOULD be distasteful!)

Just speculating here, but I think the artist was a woman. Only a woman could have gotten the machismo of the last guy with the big wanker right.

Then, they'd have to be spouting some really good chocolate or something! :-)

Seriously, though, I love this sort of installation. Aesthetically, it's terribly clean and well-done. Above all, it's clever. That alone makes the utility all the more enjoyable.

Indeed, I wish there was more stuff like this in our culture.

Malleron--how about if the penises were drinking fountains? heehee

Actually, I think this is quite tasteful. What would be truly distasteful is if the figures were making rude gestures with those penises. As it is, this is perhaps one of the few truly utilitarian purposes one can put to such things.

I needed that :)
