Top Design----Season 2??

By DIY Maven

Last year when Bravo first announced its new show Top Design, my fingers started to tingle. Oh joy! Rapture! It would be Project Runway, only with sofas and stuff. How much better could it get? As it turned out, a lot better. TD started out promising but soon took a dive. The worst part was, as I had committed to writing next day wrap-ups for Curbly, I was forced to sit through each and every wretched episode. This being said, when I heard that Bravo is casting for Top Design Season 2, you could have knocked me over with a 6 inch steel rule. On the bright side, rumor has it that the show has gone through a complete make-over of its own, thanks to a new production crew. No word yet as to the return of Todd Oldham and Jonathan Adler, but Todd’s TD blog is still posted on Bravo’s website, so that might be a clue as to his future with the show. All in all, the fact that TD has undergone a make-over will compel me to tune in, but if it doesn’t live up to Bravo’s reputation for delivering some of the best reality t.v. shows on the air, I’m outie. I just hope that whomever is bidding the designers farewell doesn't say, "See ya later, decorator."

ITA. I am a big Todd O fan. I think the show could have used a bit more of his heart to hearts with the designers. make him more of a mentor like Tim Gunn. The few times he relaxed and gave tips were great. The scripted stuff, not so much.

I couldn't agree more - that show was a terrible let down.   And as much as I adore Jonathan Adler's work - his tag line made me cringe!
