Top 5 Ways to DE-STRESS the Holidays

By DIY Maven

Are you in a holiday tizzy? Do you want the festivities to be over so you can take a deep breath? Are you dreading spending hours with in-laws? If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to any or all of these questions, you are NOT ALONE. There are, however, some things you can do to put yourself at ease during the holidays. Life coach Mary Rosendale has assembled a list of five excellent ideas to help you survive–and maybe even enjoy--the season.

1. Let go of expectations. (‘Hallmark’ Christmases are fiction.)

2. Put yourself on your gift list. (Yes, you do deserve treating yourself with kindness.)

3. Give yourself a time out. (The earth won’t stop spinning if you take a few deep breaths.)

4. You are not Superman. (Clark Kent was also fictional.)

5. Set a cut-off point for you to complete your to-do list. (We can all only do so much.)

For detailed examples of how to put these tips into practice, go to this article.
