DIY Rectangular Wall Appliques OR A New Way To Frame

By DIY Maven

Remember the circle wall appliques? Well, the people that brought us those also sell a rectangular version. I’m thinking, however, instead of spending the 42 bucks on 5 of their unpainted rectangles, how about amassing rummage sale frames. Toss all but the actual frame parts and then paint them up so they coordinate. Apply them to the wall with sticky-back foam tape and then slip in your favorite images–which you can EASILY change when the mood strikes.

P.S. Notice how matching the frame color with the wall color puts the focus on the images themselves, making them ‘pop’.

Very nice! I love the fact that they don't mark the walls--always a concern in my household.

Hi DIY Maven - I have been working on a very similar idea too.

I used a special low-tack adhesive tape so you can take them down without marking the walls. I cast them at home in polyester resin and sell them in packs of five from my website. I'm currently making prototypes for larger poster versions - hopefully I can get those out in the next few months.
