Tissue Ring Thing

By DIY Maven

To use this tissue ring thing ($19.99) you must extract your tissues from their cozy box and expose them to the allergen-filled world. You place the ring thing on the top tissue, which you pull through the ring. The other tissues follow suit as usual. Now, I think this thing looks like something you could find in the plumbing or jewelry aisle for a couple of bucks, but MWT, the machine tool designer, tells me it is precisely designed, taking into account weight, material, circumference, blah, blah, blah. To which I say, "Whatever, dude."

Hm. Maybe not for everyday use, but I can see it being a really cute novelty item for when you have parties or dinner parties. This way, too, you can buy really cheap tissue that comes in the ugly boxes and just use the tissue! Or not.

I don't understand either. I think its designer is trying to convince us that the box that goes around the tissues--that keep them clean--is passe.

what is the point of if? Just what is the point? Why would I want to do that to my tissues? I don't understand?
