where to start?

So the strangest thing is I love looking at and reading about interior design, however, my own place needs some serious help. The situation is this: I moved across the ocean and had to build my home from scratch. Sounds like fun I know but it can also be overhwhelming when making big purchases that have to stand the test of time. So slowly I have accumulated things I like but after THREE YEARS I still am missing some key pieces and feel very unorganized. I need a closet that i like and that seems to be the most challenging thing to find as of yet. Most of my walls are still pretty bare. I don't know what is wrong with me. It's like I have been living in a design fog where my home doesn't represent me at all. I hope I find lots of inspiration here and get my butt in gear.
