dentedvw, It just looks like there is no sunlight coming if viewed from the front. If you go to my flickr set, you will see the back of the house has LOTS of glass and gets plenty of light. The material I'm using for the siding is called Minerit.

Holy Cement board brooklyn!
Not big on sunlight? :o
I do like the use of hardi materials though, I need to finish my hardi-ceiling in my dining room soon, this reminds me. :)
