Regretsy::For Those Terrible Handmade Mistakes.

By Chrisjob

The best part about my site of the week - Regretsy - is that is doesn't boast an "About" page...it features a disclaimer. And that disclaimer, friends, is this:

"Don’t get us wrong. We like crafts.

We just don’t like these crafts."

Sometimes, there's mistakes in makes...and then there's just bad tas » READ MORE

Linking Mugs.

By Chrisjob

Quick! Four friends over for hot cocoa, only two hands, and zero cocktail trays. What do you do?

Why, you opt to pour your frothy chocolatey tastiness in these: the Link mugs from Mocha.uk.

"So, inspired by the quintessential builder's mug, designer Jonathan Aspinall has developed an inspired solution to this problem - mugs that can link together. Each cup has a plus shaped plug on one side and a corresponding receptacle on the other. Thereby al » READ MORE

How To: Felt Circle Ornament

By Chrisjob

[Felt+Ornament+7.jpg]

This festive felt ornament is of the best kind of crafty projects: the final product seems intricate and complex, but the actual design simply incorporates a few felt circles and a basic stitch.

Make 90-Second Waffle Cookies.

By Chrisjob

From dough to dunked in just 90 seconds.

2009_11_05-wafflecookie.jpg

When you've simply got to have a warm cookie right away, look to your waffle iron. The crispy/chewy results will look like waffles, taste like cookies, and last...well, about another 90 seconds. "These cookies, excerpted from the book Dessert Express, look like mini waffles, but they bake up just like oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies, with browned, toasty oats on the outside and gooey, melty chips. Once cooled, they look cute garnishing bowls of ice cream."

Stack Your Wine Bottles with Style.

By Chrisjob

vineyard3 Stack your Wine Bottles with Style : Vineyard by Pack a& Rack

I can't think of a better way to put it, so I'll let the manufacturer describe the Vineyard from Pack and Rack:

Why hide a beautiful thing? Wine speaks to all your senses, not least to the eye. So why then tuck away a beautiful bottle of deepest red with a label that probably has been designed by a well known artist? Show your wine - let friends and customers admire this piece of art!

How To: Fit a Secondhand Sweater.

By Chrisjob

Many a vintage//thrifted/solastseason sweater were patterned with a boxy look that doesn't flatter anyone's figure. But don't place that classy secondhand gem back on the rack just yet. Sarai Mitnick is on top of it.

sweater with rose

"My grandmother gave me this gorgeous rose pink vintage cashmere sweater a couple years back and though I’ve worn it from time to time, it was really too big for me and felt really frumpy. I finally took action and could not be happ » READ MORE

The Zipper Cup.

By Chrisjob

Zipper Cup

The modern interlocking zipper was perfected in 1914 by Swedish-born Gideon Sundback. "Sundbäck developed a version based on interlocking teeth, the "Hookless No. 2", which was the modern metal zipper in all its essentials. In this fastener each tooth is punched to have a dimple on its bottom and a nib or conical projection on its top. The nib atop one tooth engages in the matching dimple in the bottom of the tooth that follows it on the other s » READ MORE

Best Hand Painting Art Ever.

By Chrisjob

Dude...I thought shadow puppets were cool.

They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, but I think these unbelievable hand paintings prove that our extremities can be equally expressive. After all, our opposable thumbs make us human, right? Well, that and a penchant for complex and abstract reasoning, language, and introspection.

How To: Make a Reversible Placemat Cover.

By Chrisjob

Reversible Tablesetting Placemat Cosy

It's nearly 2010! If you've got placemats, they should indeed be round. And if you've got round placemats, you should create your own covers. And! If you're creating your own covers, might as well make 'em two-sided for twice the decorability.
