Kaitlin from WhiskKid has got a few things figured out: 1) cakes should always be created from layers; 2) the more thin layers, the better, as they allow for more frosting; and 3) if you're gonna have crazy layers to support the frosting, you might as well make those substrates amazing.

And she's put her knowledge into action with this: the Super Epic Rainbow Cake. Slathered with a Lemon Swiss Meringue Buttercrea, this will have even non-bakers reaching for their mixers.
