DIY Cardboard Cat Chaise.

By Chrisjob

1Apparently, cats have this thing where they like to install themselves in cozy spaces: spots like drawers, behind furniture, and if its available, an appropriately-sized empty cardboard box. So, take advantage of their penchant for nookery, and make them do what they do in style.

Materials

  • Large sheets of corrugated cardboard
  • Hot glue gun
  • Markers
  • Utlity knife
  • Cutting mat or scrap surface

Begin by downloading the pdf pattern, available here. Then, lounge on over to Evil Mad Scientist for the complete how-to.

No, it's not my cat. I have such extraordinary allergies to pet dander, and everything else, I'll never be able to enjoy a furry housemate. I presume it belongs to one of the characters at EvilMadScientist.

DM-My favorite childhoold dog was Jasmine.  Earlier dog, Taffy, bit me in the upper cheek for which I still have a scar--Bad Dog!

Now that is just so precious! Is that your cat Chris or a picture from the site? Our oldest kitty Mollee loves boxes, but not sure she'd like this one. She's a very big kitty (Mainecoone breed) and she prefers to get herself into the smallest box possible. I have no clue how she fits sometimes. Joey at fifteen months prefers paper bags where Tommy, the baby at 14 months, likes plastic bags that have something in them. That worries me. Big time. I have to hide all plastic bags for fear my little lion will hurt himself.

This is a very cute idea though. I think my childhood kitty Katie, would have loved it. Our daughter's (Katie also) cat Jazmyn would feel right at home on this since she thinks she's a princess. We'd probably have to upholster it in silk or something lush though.
