10 Easy Household Time Savers.

By Chrisjob

Here's ten excellent ideas to cut down on major house and life-cleaning projects. I especially like the leaving the dishwasher open while cooking, provided it's not a safety hazard.

  1. Keep the dishwasher open and fill with dirty dishes as you cook. Have a sink full of hot soapy water to hold the hand wash items so they can soak and be easily cleaned.
  2. Sort the silverware as you fill the dishwasher, each type of utensil getting its own slot in the utensil holder.
  3. Do a quick wipe inside the oven while doing the dishes, cleaning up any spills and splatters.
  4. Make sure all clean dishes in the dishwasher are put away nightly.
  5. Wipe down the inside of the microwave nightly.
  6. Each day wipe down the bathroom sink, toilet and spray the inside of the shower with cleaner, empty the bathroom trash into the main trash.
  7. Place door mats at all entrances to the home, they help hold much of the dirt from shoes rather than getting tracked throughout the house.
  8. Bulk cook.
  9. Assign one day a week for errands, and stick to it.
  10. Do at least two full loads of laundry per day.

My newest favorite time saving tip:

Weekly, choose a night and fill the tub with hot water, one cup of bleach and your child's bath toys.  Close the door to keep children and animals out of the full tub, and while everyone sleeps, let the bleach soak and do its magic.  In the morning, drain and you'll have a clean tub and toys!
