How To: No-Sew Chair Upholstery.

By Chrisjob

"Mad Housewife knows a thing or [two] about short cuts to success, and has some simple instructions on how to transform an old chair by stapling on new fabric. Going to work on an old chair can be a lot of fun, especially when you can experiment with patterns, so why not give it a go?"

Simply grab an old chair with a nasty surface and some new upholstery fabric, and rip the chair apart, and by rip, I mean carefully disect it into its pieces. If the padding seems to be in fine shape, simply staple the new fabric overtop, and put the chair back together.

Done and done.

Hi!

I've done a number of task/desk chair reupholstery jobs and, don't think me pushy, but I invite you to check out the photos I posted a while ago with the Goodwill Hunting Task Chair Re-do.  At the time I posted this, I couldn't get the text where I wanted it but I think the pictures are self explanatory.  You can always ask any questions since I've wrestled so many office chairs to the ground.

Chris,

Do you have any pictures of the back of the seat? Did she use gimp to hide the staples?
