Chrisjob,

First of all - 1,000 sorries for not responding to your question about our livingroom pillows.

The pillow with the branches is from Ikea. I made the hummingbird one by creating a simple hummingbird drawing on a cheap scrap o' fabric. I then heat-set it onto the light blue fabric (also very cheap). It was the first pillow I've made and up close, it's totally amateur, but from a distance it's pretty fly.

To annotate a pic, enter annotation in the "image description" field of the add/edit pic window. I've noticed the tags don't show up on Foxfire, but they do work on MSN. So, depending on your ISP you may or may not see them.

I bet you could paint those twin-sockets of your fractal chandelier. I'd probably use something like Wilbond on the plastic and then shoot it with spray paint. You'd have to tape off the threads on the bottom and stuff the cavities with something to protect them from over-spray, of course.

Hey Chris! Yeah, there is a way to get a heads up on comments. On your blog click "Edit Profile", on the next page, above your profile pic, there will be a question "Edit your account settings?" Click on that and you'll be given options as to notification. If the appropriate boxes are checked and you still aren't getting notices, it may be because of your e-mail filter. I have MSN/Hotmail for my primary e-mail account and they i.d. Curbly stuff as SPAM or some such thing. I just use an alternative address through Google (g-mail) which works fine.

Too bad you missed the entry date! Your table would have killed!!

Hey, did you see TD's online challenge for this week? You should submit a pic of your Noguchi-ish table. If you do, I'll even write up a post encouraging fellow Curbliers to vote for you. Maybe we can get you a prize!

Yeah, when I cut the sheet metal I used tin snips then I had to go back and file (rasp) the edges.  It looked just fine after that, if you have bent edges put the sheet metal in between two pieces of wood and then c-clamp them together for a while and that should take care of it.

Cutting sheet metal cleanly is not easy... this homemade laser method looks good, but not really practical. Here's a more reasonable method.
