Make butterflies from travel maps

By Bromeliad

Butterfly map

Nearly 40 million Americans go somewhere over holidays like July 4, Memorial Day and Labor Day, and all that summer travel means picking up maps along the way. What to do with them when you get home?

You could turn them into simple butterfly art.

This easy project was inspired by Image Surgery, which creates laser-cut butterflies from vintage maps.

For a do-it-yourself version, check out details at examiner.com.
