terrariums

By Affinity

I'm so extremely fascinated by the concept of an enclosed terrarium and I'm thinking of making one as it requires little/no attention. Its supposed to be a self-contained ecosystem which recycles moisture through condensation and evaporation. Perfect for lazy people like me.
I saw this terrarium from the Swapatorium blog made by Poopscape and it looks fantastic.
love that cute chair she has placed in the terrarium.

The chair is [most likely] from Vitra's Mini series....precious indeed, but costs as much as a actual chair...

Broke and Bitter

They are very easy (and fairly cheap) to make.  I had on filled with carnivorous plants that I bought at Lowe's -- I loved it.  I always felt so evil when I tossed in a bug.  It did very well for nearly a year until my cat knocked it off of the shelf and ruined it.

Martha Stewart's Living had a nice spread on terrariums a few years back.  Very nice, but they were all in antique glassware.  Too much $$ for me...

Aw, these are lovely. The chair is precious.

You should definitely make one. My brother made one in middle school and it lasted forever.
