Workspace: Inside the Studios of 12 Creatives

created at: 01/04/2011

I'm always fascinated by the spaces people work and create in.  Growing up with a graphic designer / illustrator / fine art painter dad, the garage was typically turned into a studio of sorts where we could all create together and, well, be messy.  I loved the paint splattered floors, the doodles on unfinished drywall, and the rows of materials at arm's reach.  So, with that, I present 12 artist, designer, and crafter spaces to inspire you on this fine Tuesday afternoon!

There ya go! Love that term. That fits me perfectly.

Hopefully when our son gets the rest of his stuff out of our home I'll get the three rooms he and his son occupied while they lived here. His room will be back to a guest room, our grandson's room will be storage for my fabric and our daughter's room which our son used as a living room, will once again be my everything room. Sewing/computer and TV room.

Organized chaos, I call it!  I'm the same way, though.  Organized in pretty much every other aspect, but when I'm getting down and creative, it's total crazy town.  I dream of having a room where all my supplies and tools are, you know, just so.  One day!  :)

Wow, what fun to look at all these. Some are very neat and some are less neat, but all have that creative vibe about them.

I always used to think that creative people were a bit on the messy side, I know I can be that way when invovled in the creative process. Lately I've found myself wanting, even needing, my creative space to be organized. Considering I'm rather obsessive aobut organizing the rest of my life I do wonder why it's taken me so long to want my work space neat too.

Thanks for the inspiration Capreek!
