It’s a Hot One: Root Beer Home Brew

This hot weather is reminding me of the days of yore when my high school boyfriend’s parents decided they were going to brew their own root beer. Like most of their half-baked DIY schemes, it was a huge flop. Shell shocked after that fiasco, as well as a subsequent bad break-up, I never thought I’d consider trying my own home brew. Times have changed. I’m ready to DIY this one from Epicurious.com.

Root Beer Float: The reason I got into root beer in the first place

I consider myself a purist, but using root beer extract just makes sense.

Here’s the list of what you need:

1 tablespoon root-beer extract
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon yeast (whatever kind you have in your kitchen)
cool water
2-liter bottle or growler jug (half gallon glass jug)

Find out how to proceed right here.
