What's with these bear rugs?

What's with these bear rugs? When I first saw a post about them a few weeks back, I was like...oh-kay---and promptly forgot about them. But then posts featuring them started springing up on design websites everywhere. This, of course, produced some head-scratching.

Maybe my first assumptions were wrong. Maybe they would be something the Curbly audience would find appealing. So, what say you? Are they worth all this exposure?

P.S. Every time I see a bear rug--real or faux--I can't help but think about how many times I'd be tripping over that head.

StoneMaven, that's clever. Also, 'Neo-Adams Family'...love that. :)

I LOVE them, but then my asthetic is Neo-Addams Family.  I've often toyed with the idea of making a "Teddy bear skin" rug by taking one of those over-sized teddies and deconstructing it into a rug, leaving only the head stuffed.  Too macabre?

I think you're right, thebeezkneez but the pic is very cute.

Yeaaaahhh.....It's a fun idea but I think the novelty would wear off pretty quick. Glad you posted it though. It's a far more poetic statement (and pc) than high design.  A true conversation piece.

Ahh! Turn it off!
