You know that seriously awesome Dean & Deluca, $150 spice rack? Well, Melinda decided to make a knock off and for a fraction of the cost, I’m guessing. What I especially like about the DIY version–besides the cost-savings–is that you can assemble only the spices that you’ll actually use and not the ones D & D think you should use.
And now for the how-to part of the post. Melinda called up a local chemistry supply company to buy the vials + cork stoppers. I found these at Essential Supplies for 70 cents a pop.
The labels are round Avery types. A package of 1008 (!), 3/4″ diameter inkjet labels will set you back about $8.
Melinda doesn’t say where she found the glass/lucite box for the container, but to make it even MORE D & D like, you might want to opt for a wire basket, maybe something like this one at the Container Store for 7 bucks.
If you don’t need that much spice real estate, you could opt for a wire mesh pencil cup like this one at Staples for 5 bucks.
