The prize is this fabulous George Kovacs floor lamp from George’s Reading Room Collection, which is valued at $300. In his four decades long career, George Kovacs has helped revolutionize the lighting industry by championing contemporary designs with a retro flair. Although they are both graceful and fanciful, they’re always functional. His Reading Room Collection is a perfect illustration of this. The metallic finishes are sleek yet distinctive. The opal shades provide directional light while flooding rooms with a comforting glow. Makes you want a Kovacs of your very own, doesn’t it?

Well, that’s where Curbly comes in! To enter our CSN Lighting George Kovacs Reading Lamp simply do one or all of the following:

  • Leave a comment below saying where and how you would use the lamp.
  • Include in your comments a link to post of an announcement on your blog OR a link to a tweet about this contest, and double your chances of winning!

Thursday at midnight (CT)—that’s April 23, 2009—we’ll gather all the entries, including those in the comments here AND those on your blogs and in your tweets and pick a lucky winner, which we’ll announce on Friday the 24th. So go forth and comment, blog and tweet!!

I'm in the process of revamping my bedroom and I think this would be fabulous for a small reading area there.

Jess on Apr 22, 2009:

I would use this lamp in my den, which just so happens to be where I read and make my jewelry! Love it!

Ohhh very classic.  I am collecting furniture for my office when I graduate from Grad School next year.  with 85K in debt I doubt I could afford a George Kovacs lamp.

Ann on Apr 22, 2009:

I would use this next to my craft comfy chair!  It will also look great next to my Eames walnut stool!

sparker on Apr 22, 2009:

I would use this lamp as a dual purpose light source, turned up wards to accentuate a wall hanging or framed picture and downwards for reading and craft work.

Tracy on Apr 22, 2009:

I like expensive lamps!

Carolyn G on Apr 21, 2009:

This would definitely go into our office over our reading chair.  It is beautiful,

I live in a small studio in Austin, so putting it next to my poang as a reading light.... well... makes it a living room lamp, a bedroom reading light, and mood lighting for the kitchen!

Caroline on Apr 21, 2009:

This would be a brilliant reading light over my bed!

Lynne on Apr 21, 2009:

In the bedroom, by the bed.  Since I havent gotten around to buying reading lights yet, my husband uses his head lamp (you know the type climbers and miners wear strapped to their heads) which is just really creepy.

Brendan on Apr 21, 2009:

Love it!  I would put this lamp next to a danish modern reading chair I'm in the process of re-finishing.  It'd be a great reading area.  Thanks!

Roseanna on Apr 21, 2009:

I'm looking for nice flat in my city. When I'll find something good - then I need to decorate my apartment. With my three pillows "Ctrl Alt Del" and few fancy stuff that lamp will be absolutely perfect for my place :-). Sorry for my english :-]

YAM on Apr 20, 2009:

Next to my bed for some reading. Thanks great giveaway.

Shari on Apr 20, 2009:

This would go wonderfully in our home office corner, that has recently been starting to shape up. It would be an  elegant to finish to a DIYish area with a bulletin board full of "vintage" (B/W 1970s & 80s) family photos. I like! I wish! Do they ship overseas? Thanks Curbly!

abancroft on Apr 20, 2009:

What a gorgeous and simple lamp. Lighting in the way of lamps always seems to come last in our house, this would look great bedside!

mila on Apr 20, 2009:

What a beauty! Slim, graceful and smile-generating...just like my little girl; I'd put the lamp in my daughter's room near her 1960's mirror so she can see exactly how lovely she is each and every day.
