Make A Personalised House Of Cards

by on Nov 28, 2008

The Eames House Of Cards is a series of interlocking cards depicting what Charles called ‘The good stuff’,

first produced in 1952, they’re still available today, find them at the Curiosity Shoppe for $35. If you have an MCM lover on you list they’re pretty much perfect.

OR you could make some depicting your very own good stuff. There’s a tutorial over at Design*Sponge to do just that.

You’ll need:

  • 32 images that you love
  • a printer
  • 3 sheets of photo quality ink jet paper
  • 3 pieces of 8.5” x 11” cardstock
  • rubber cement
  • x-acto knife and straight edge
  • rounded-corner punch (optional)
  • scissors

I’ll be making a three sets of these featuring Teddy to give to his
Grandparents this Christmas and a set featuring indecent close-ups of
vintage V8 engines for my brother-in-law. You could do a botanical set
for garden lovers, a food pornography set for culinary types, you could
even transform your vacation photos; the possibilities are endless.
